The Hirsch-Weis Manufacturing Company of Portland, Oregon, made durable outdoor clothing and supplies worn by loggers, mill hands, and stockmen.Hirsch-Weis was founded when brothers Max S. and Leopold B. Hirsch purchased the Willamette Tent and Awning Company, a manufacturer of sails for deep water ships, from E Henry Wemme in 1907.
Featuring all the traditional features of a Mackinaw, including two front welt pockets, two lower pockets, two chest pocket and large map pocket at the back of the garment. This one features a double layer of wool around the chest for extra warmth.
Used and in good vintage condition considering it is approx 70 years old, with general signs of wear and abrasion throughout, there are a few mark including a larger one to the upper back and the back neck hanger loop has broken. A great bit of kit with plenty gas left in the can, freshly steamed and ready for a new owner.
