Nicknamed the “Crackerjack” because of the iconic snack food packaging featuring a sailor (“Jack”) and his dog (“Bingo”), the iconic blue US Navy military uniform has undergone remarkably few changes since its introduction in 1864. This makes it one of the most easily recognisable military uniforms of all time.
This Vintage WW2 US Navy Military Cracker Jack Shirt features unique Liberty Cuff bands to the internal of the cuffs identifying the naval ship the sailor was working aboard. Named 'Liberty Cuffs' as they could only be displayed when a sailor was off duty, or 'on liberty', and could roll up their sleeves to show their unique cuffs. The back neck tag identifies the shirt being manufactured by the 'Naval Clothing Factory' which can also be used to date the shirt from the WW2 Period as this is the particular tag that was used on uniforms throughout this period.
Used and in very good vintage condition with light sings of wear and abrasion throughout. The tag has the name of a previous owner on it but this cannot be seen when worn and adds to the vintage aesthetic of the garment. Freshly laundered and ready for a new owner.
