Vintage 70s Alpha Industries Vietnam M-65 Man's Field Military Jacket Green S Short
The M-65 field coat was first issued to the U.S. Armed Services in 1965 as a replacement for the M-51 field coat. The M-65 represented the culmination of field coat design, drawing on the technological developments of the M-43 and M-51 field coats used in WWII and Korea. The M-65 also used the covered zipper and snap front closure from the M-51 that allowed soldiers to crawl on their stomachs without the jacket opening and snagging on obstacles.
Alpha Industries is an American clothing manufacturer founded 1959 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Initially a contractor to the United States military, it is fair to say they know a thing or two about military garb.
This is a vintage US Army M-65 jacket with an aluminium Scovill front zipper. The label dates this jacket to 1970, Vietnam era, and the manufacturer was Alpha Industries, Inc. Made in the USA, this is an iconic field jacket.
Used and overall in good vintage condition with general signs of wear, abrasion, and discolouration throughout with some light marks. There is some fraying/ small holes to the collar. Freshly laundered and ready for its new owner.
All my vintage listings unless otherwise stated are true vintage and have been worn before, therefore they will typically show signs of wear, which is all part of the vintage look and appeal.
