Woolrich has been synonymous with quality outdoor clothing for over 180 years. Founded in 1830 by John Rich and Daniel McCormick, Woolrich is the oldest manufacturer of outdoor wear in the USA.
The Woolrich hunting coat originated in the 1800s and is still as popular today. The rugged shell helps ward off the fiercest weather. It's not only warm, but it sheds water, and the tight weave keeps out the cold. Made in the USA. The label dates this garment to approx 1947, as this is when the sheep was changed to look more like a calf and was before the (R) symbol was introduced.
Used and in fair to good vintage condition considering it is approx 70 years old, with general signs of wear and some quite heavy abrasion throughout from use. The back neck label and hanger loop have perished in parts and there are two small holes to the lining. The cuff buttons and rear stowage buttons are replacements. Not quite perfect but plenty of character and still many years of wear left.
All my vintage listings unless otherwise stated are true vintage and have been worn before, therefore they will typically show signs of wear and will not smell like new, which is all part of the vintage look and appeal.

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR SIZE: Please DO NOT solely rely on the listed size for your correct fit. Designers often use different measurements for sizes depending on the overall look they desire, so sizes can not only vary brand to brand but also within the same brand. Also, for vintage and pre-worn items the shape may have changed after years of being worn. The best way to ensure your correct fit is to compare the measurements listed to a similar item that fits you well.
EXTERNAL MEASUREMENTS: Please check against a similar garment of your own that fits you well, measuring flat and fully zipped or buttoned up (if applicable) on a flat surface:
