The 1940s N-1 Deck jacket was first issued to all US Navy personnel during WWII, and saw action from the beaches of Normandy to the Pacific Islands, and became one of the most used and favoured jackets.
This is a vintage N-1 US Navy Department deck jacket, contract NXsx 79062, featuring the legendary characteristics of the originals. Made from a corded cotton jungle cloth outer-shell fabric and a warm alpaca fur lining, this is dated to the 1940s WWII Era.
Used and in good vintage condition considering it is circa 80 years old, with general heavy signs of wear, abrasion, and discolouration/ marks throughout. There is some fraying and holes to the cuff ends and hemline, and the inner arm seams have got some stitching that has come away. The top and 4th button on the front are a slightly different shade and look to be replacement buttons from the same era. Not quite perfect but this N-1 deck jacket certainly has bags of character.
