The M-65 field coat was first issued to the U.S. Armed Services in 1965 as a replacement for the M-51 field coat. The M-65 represented the culmination of field coat design, drawing on the technological developments of the M-43 and M-51 field coats used in WWII and Korea. The M-65 also used the covered zipper and snap front closure from the M-51 that allowed soldiers to crawl on their stomachs without the jacket opening and snagging on obstacles.
This is a vintage US Army M-65 jacket with a heavy duty aluminium front zipper and four generous front pockets. The label dates this to 1967 making this early production Vietnam era. The manufacturer was Allen Overall Co. Made in the USA - this is an iconic field jacket.
Used and overall in good vintage condition considering the age, with general signs of wear and abrasion with some marks and fraying. The internal back neck label and hem label is coming away and the name TEKAC has been wrote above the front right chest pocket. If you are looking for a jacket that has seen some action with bags of character then this is the one for you. Freshly laundered and ready for a new owner.
All my vintage listings unless otherwise stated are true vintage and have been worn before, therefore they will typically show signs of wear, which is all part of the vintage look and appeal.

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR SIZE: Please DO NOT solely rely on the listed size for your correct fit. Designers often use different measurements for sizes depending on the overall look they desire, so sizes can not only vary brand to brand but also within the same brand. Also, for vintage and pre-worn items the shape may have changed after years of being worn. The best way to ensure your correct fit is to compare the measurements listed to a similar item that fits you well.
