Vintage Barbour A400 Northumbria Green Wax Jacket Coat Made In England XXL
John Barbour, founded J.Barbour and Sons Ltd in South Shields, North of England, in 1894 and started out as an importer of oil cloth. Barbour was the originator of waxed cotton motorcycle suits and jackets and are synonymous with high quality waxed and quilted outdoor jackets and apparel.
For Barbour fans, a true vintage Barbour A400 Northumbria wax cotton jacket. Made In England from English fabric.
Used and in very good vintage condition with general light signs of wear, creasing/ discolouration throughout, which will only enhance when worn more to create an amazing patina. This jacket looks to have hardly been worn based on the condition of the lining and the creasing outside appears to have most likely been from storage.
Please note wax cotton has a unique smell even when new, and over time for a vintage jacket this can become a stronger more enhanced smell. PLEASE BE AWARE - If you have never had a wax jacket and are unfamiliar with the type of smell then we would not recommend to buy a used or vintage wax jacket.
All my vintage listings unless otherwise stated are true vintage and have been worn before, therefore they will typically show signs of wear and will not smell like new, which is all part of the vintage look and appeal.

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR SIZE: Please DO NOT solely rely on the listed size for your correct fit. Designers often use different measurements for sizes depending on the overall look they desire, so sizes can not only vary brand to brand but also within the same brand. Also, for vintage and pre-worn items the shape may have changed after years of being worn. The best way to ensure your correct fit is to compare the measurements listed to a similar item that fits you well.
EXTERNAL MEASUREMENTS: Please check against a similar garment of your own that fits you well, measuring flat and fully zipped or buttoned up (if applicable) on a flat surface:
A - CHEST - armpit to armpit (double for full chest): 29in (73.5cm)
B - SLEEVE - shoulder seam to cuff end: 24.5in (62cm)
C - SHOULDER - distance between shoulder seams straight across at the back: 22in (56cm)
D - LENGTH - at the centre back from the base of the collar to the hem: 36in (91cm)
Please do not solely rely on the listed size for your correct fit. Designers often use different measurements for sizes depending on the overall look they desire, so sizes can not only vary brand to brand but also within the same brand.
